Hymns, 32nd Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year B (8 November 2015)

A selection of hymns and songs, based on themes from the Roman Catholic lectionary for the thirty-second Sunday of Ordinary time, Year B.

Most are free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) meaning the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing.  Many such hymns are old/traditional - but where possible a variety of styles / genres are included.

A small selection of hymns that are still be copyright may also included where they are a particularly good for for the theme(s).

Readings

First: I Kings - Elijah asks a widow to make him a meal, and promises that God will provide food for her

Psalm: 145 -  My soul give praise to the Lord / It is the Lord who keeps faith forever ... gives sight to the blind ... upholds the widow and orphan

Second: Hebrews - Christ has made his appearance once and for all - to take the faults of many on himself

Gospel: Mark  - The widow's mite:  a poor woman contributed her whole livelihood to the treasury, even though it was a small amount compared to others.


Themes

Service, self-sacrifice, bringing what we have.   Providence.
