Hymns, 30th Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year B (25 October 2015)

A selection of hymns and songs, based on themes from the Roman Catholic lectionary for the thirtieth Sunday of Ordinary time, Year B.

Most are free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) meaning the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing.  Many such hymns are old/traditional - but where possible a variety of styles / genres are included.

A small selection of hymns that are still be copyright may also included, if they are particularly matched with the readings.

Readings

First:  Jeremiah  -  The Lord says "Shout with joy - I have saved my people - I am a father to Israel"

Psalm: 125 (126) -  What marvels the Lord worked for us / When the Lord delivered Zion from bondage

Second: Hebrews - Even the priest called by God is still human / you are a priest of the order of Melchizedek

Gospel: Mark  - The healing of blind Bartimaeus - thanks to his faith, courage and persistence.



Themes

God the Father:   Healer, protector, miracle-worker, saviour.   Faith, faithfulness.
