A selection of hymns and songs, based on themes from the Roman Catholic lectionary for the sixth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year B.

Most are free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) meaning the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing. Many such hymns are old/traditional - but where possible a variety of styles / genres are included.

A small selection of hymns which are still copyright, but are a particularly good fit for the day's readings, are also included.

Readings

First: Leviticus 13 - The Lord tells Moses and Aaron what to do if someone in the community has leprosy - that the person must be unclean and live outside the camp.

Psalm: 31 - You are my refuge O Lord, you will me with the joy of salvation / Happy the one whose offense is forgiven / But now I have acknowledged my sings / Rejoice in the Lord.

Second: I Corinthians 10 - Whatever you do, do it for the glory of God ... work for the advantage of everybody so they may be saved.

Gospel: Mark 1 - Jesus heals a leper, and orders him not to tell people what was done.   But the man does tell people, so Jesus is besieged and has to go to places where no one lives..

Themes

Jesus as healer of people who are outcast.  Praying for those who care for the sick.   Examining how we can bring healing to those who are outcast.
