A selection of free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) hymns and songs, based on themes from the Roman Catholic lectionary for the  4th Sunday of Easter, Year C.

"Free-to-use" means the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing - although sometimes in limited circumstances.

Many of these hymns are old/traditional - but where possible a variety of styles / genres are included.
See lectionary art for this Sunday for suggested pictures and art-works based on today's readings.

Readings

First: Acts - Paul and Barnabas preach in Antioch - the Jews reject them, so they turn to the pagans - I have made you a light for the nations so my salvation may reach the ends of the earth.

Psalm: 99 -  We are his people the sheep of his flock / Cry out with joy to the Lord all the earth / Know that he, the Lord is God / Indeed how good is the Lord.

Second: Apocalypse - John has a vision of people from every race, nation, tribe etc - standing in front of the Lamb - the Lamb will be their shepherd and lead them to springs of living water.

Gospel:   John - The sheep that belong to me listen to my voice - I give them eternal life - the Father and I are one.
